Vitamin D: New Research | Just ten to fifteen minutes of sun gives us all the Vitamin D we need. But unfortunately most of us don't get the
sunlight we need. Doctors suggest getting out in the sun for a least 10 minutes a day depending on your skin type and then covering
up to prevent skin damage and cancer.
This single nutrient, Vitamin D protects against diabetes, tuberculosis, cancer, colds and the flu and more. Research has intensified over the last few months that show lack of this important vitamin can cause dangerous hypertension during pregnancy since the vitamin helps control the hormone that affects blood pressure. A person can reduce their risk of getting diabetes because vitamin D affects the pancreas's release of insulin. |
Most people run short of vitamin D during the winter because in colder climates they stay indoors more and the sun's UV ray's fall at to low an angle. Scientist say this may explain why people get the flu during the winter more then any other time of the year. According to experts Vitamin D might fire up part of the immune system that prevents flu germs from penetrating cells.New evidence shows that people with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia actually have a painful softening of the bones caused by Vitamin D deficiency.
We should get up to between 1,000 - 2,000 IU's a day. Don't get more then this since an over dose may cause toxicity. Of course you can't overdose on Vitamin D through food or sunlight.

Dear Ones,I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.
