American Girl Samantha Doll & Paperback BookPleasant Rowland first produced the American Girl doll in 1986. She was looking for a doll to give to her niece but could only find baby, teen and adult dolls. There was nothing for a girl aged 9-10. Seeing a hole in the market she decided to fill it. These dolls are based on pre teen characters from different times in American history.
The dolls are 18 inches in height and come with their own book and accessories. American Girl quickly became popular and over 14 million dolls have been sold with 123 million books that go with them. At first these dolls were sold through home mail order but now are sold through Mattel Inc. Not only are these dolls fun for pre-teens but also teach a lesson in history.

Dear American Girl Fans,
I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep. In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep
