Harley Davidson Classic Motorcycle Framed Art Poster | The first motorcycle was built and designed by German inventors. It was actually a motorized
bicycle. The inventors called it Reitwagen, meaning riding car. But this may be disputed since in American an early classic
motorcycle was shown and demonstrated in fairs and circuses in 1867. But whoever was really first in building the motorcycle the
Germans was the first to make them available to the general public in 1894.
Motorcycle production increased as the engines became more powerful and became less like a bicycle. Indian was the largest motorcycle producer until the First World War. Then Harley Davidson outsold them and was selling motorcycles in 67 countries. In 1928 DKW became the largest producer. Then BSA took over producing the most motorcycles, 75,000 bikes a year throughout the 1950's. And then in 1955 through the 1970's the German company NSU Motorenwerke AG sold the most. Harley Davidson is still popular in the United States, but worldwide Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha are most widely sold. Other popular brands are BMW, Triumph and Ducati classic motorcycles. Now even a diesel powered motorcycle is available from the Dutch company E.V.A. Products BV Holland. Time will tell how popular these will become. |
Nearly all Grand Prix races are won by using streamlined motorcycles. Moto-Guzzi produced streamlined machines and has won many races. Large capacity motorcycles are popular but the smaller motorcycle less then 300 cc became the biggest seller overall. With the Honda Super club selling its 60 millionth machine sold in 2008. Small two stroke motorcycles became highly sought after during the 1960's through the 1990's.

Dear Classic Motorcycles Fans,I am writing to you in behalf of your Heavenly Father. He is seeking you like a lost sheep. You remember the Bible story? It is about a shepherd who has 100 sheep. But when he brings the sheep home one night, one is missing. He then leaves the 99 sheep and goes out into the wilderness until he finds that lost sheep.
In this parable the shepherd goes out to search for the one lost sheep-the very least that can be numbered. So if there had been but one lost soul, Christ would have died for that one. To read more click Lost Sheep
